Marty Scruggs, ATC, LAT, CSCS, CES, ITAT


Marty received a degree in Exercise Science from the University of Memphis and became a Certified Athletic Trainer and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist in 1996. His experience with professional tennis (ATP tour) and professional football (XFL) gives Marty the expertise to take care of all athletes at a professional level. Marty also completed his Internship with the University of Memphis football program. He has worked as the Head Athletic Trainer at local high schools since 1996.

Marty completed his certification for Corrective Exercise Specialist which gives him the expertise in correcting improper form and technique. He is able to provide athletes with an exercise program to improve form and technique which can help them optimize their sports performance. Secondly, he can develop an exercise program for athletes returning from an injury by targeting specific muscles to retain and improve their strength and flexibility, which are the keys to returning an athlete back to the field of play.

Under the partnership of ORTHOMEMPHIS and Lausanne, Marty will be at Lausanne Collegiate School full time taking care of their student athletes. . As the director of ORTHOMEMPHIS’ Sports Medicine Outreach, he will oversee the athletic training programs at Lausanne, Hutchison, ECS, St. George’s Independent School, St. Agnes Academy & St. Dominic School, and the Greater Memphis Soccer Association. ORTHOMEMPHIS is thrilled to have Marty’s leadership for these programs.

Marty enjoys golf, sailing and scuba diving.
