Nick Chantara, PT, DPT, OCS, Cert MDT

Nick completed his doctorate in physical therapy with honors at the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center, where he was awarded the Outstanding Physical Therapy Student Award. OrthoMemphis is thrilled to have Nick on our team. Since Nick played college soccer at Christian Brothers University, he especially enjoys helping athletes rehab their injuries and getting them back to their sport.

Nick is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist (OCS). The OCS certification program provides formal recognition for physical therapists with a minimum of 2000 clinical hours, advanced clinical knowledge, experience, and skills in orthopaedics.

For his spine patients, Nick is certified in the McKenzie Method. This is a unique evaluation, classification, and treatment protocol for back pain which may decrease pain quickly, restore function and independence, and minimize the number of visits to the clinic or therapist.  For complex cases, the therapist is able to utilize an advanced hands-on technique to decrease pain and restore function. Patients are also taught exercises to use at home to manage their pain when symptoms start to occur that may decrease the intensity of the pain.

Outside of work, Nick can be seen watching the Memphis Tiger Basketball Games, lifting weights, or playing on the soccer field.
